Managing risk and accelerating program were top priorities, when PDS Group partnered with Intermain to deliver striking new offices in a Sydney heritage building. Our experience and innovative approach allowed us to identify and mitigate program risks in a number of ways, including sourcing alternative materials and equipment with feasible lead times and using construction methodologies that delivered time savings. We also fast-tracked drawings to ensure services trades could be delivered to program. By producing all joinery in our industry-leading Sydney workshop, we were able to accelerate production to achieve ambitious deadlines. Critical to the success of the program was also Intermain’s proactive stakeholder and interface management processes. These ensured that effective team collaboration was achieved between Intermain (as Head Contractor), Medlands Engineering and Woods Bagot Architects who were also consulting on the project. Regular site meetings between the parties meant that smart solutions could be developed quickly to resolve any issues, avoiding program delay.  Intermain’s reputation for innovation saw us address and resolve a number of challenges inherent in a heritage building. We worked closely with heritage consultant Nimbus to resolve strict fit-out restrictions and deliver the high-quality finishes required by the client whilst still respecting the historic fabric of the building. Despite the congestion created by multiple projects being completed simultaneously in the building, Intermain delivered an exceptional office space for our client, on time.
