Shifting into SiXT gear!

SIXT has catapulted onto the Australian scene as NRMA’s new car rental partner (replacing Thrifty) and has shifted into SIXT gear with the help of Intermain’s Joinery team working to rebrand 88 stores across the country.

Intermain was initially engaged to deliver highly-stylised on-brand joinery for the rollout of SIXT stores across the East Coast of Australia (from Port Douglas to Geelong), South Australia and Western Australia over a 12-month program. This immediately gave SiXT a sizeable share of the car hire market, with the Intermain Joinery team working alongside 88 locations across the country including 20 regional stores, 60 metro stores and 8 airport stores.

Rigorous investigations of each new site were conducted to determine the joinery requirements and alignment of these to SiXT’s brand standards. This allowed the team to detect and trouble shoot potential issues with existing services, A/C, data racks, and other latent conditions, early on in the project. For example, some of the store locations were quite old, and required detailed shop drawings drafted up.

A typical installation involved Intermain’s team installing framework, coordinating electrical works, and completing the facade of the joinery onsite. The service counters and printer cabinets would then be placed in, with a multitude of configurations, in preparation for the IT team to reconnect and get the offices shifting into SiXT gear.

Intermain’s contract has now been extended to locations in the NT.
