Luxury gym fitout: balancing design, budget and delivery
Working to a tight program, Intermain delivered a sophisticated, multi-level, internal fitout featuring five premium training studios, changerooms, office spaces, lockers, sauna, custom joinery and reception counter. Between all three levels is a striking, steel gold staircase, that acts as both a visual centrepiece and functional element, setting the tone for the high-end experience.
This project demanded innovative solutions, including a materials hoist to navigate vertical transport challenges and the seamless incorporation of several client-driven design changes, without compromising program timelines. Additionally, through value engineering, Intermain successfully reduced the project cost by approximately $2 million without compromising the design intent.
Delivering precision joinery and polished finishes to bring vision to life
Intermain’s in-house joinery expertise was instrumental in delivering bespoke elements, including a custom reception desk, archways, beauty bars, fitness stages, locker room benches, and staff kitchenette, ensuring every detail aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and functional design goals. The refined material palette of polished stainless steel, terrazzo tiling, and premium upholstery contributes to a sleek, premium aesthetic that reinforces One Playground’s brand identity.
A dynamic lighting strategy and mirrored surfaces heighten the sense of movement, reinforcing the gym’s high-tech and immersive atmosphere. Every design element amplifies the energy of the space, where cutting-edge technology and refined finishes come together to inspire movement and transformation.
