GROUNDUP, Viva Leisure’s boutique wellness brand, has expanded its Canberra footprint with a new pilates, yoga and barre studio in Braddon. Following the success of GROUNDUP Dickson, Intermain ACT was re-engaged to deliver interior design and custom joinery—shaping a space that balances refined aesthetics with a wellness-focused environment through layered textures, sculptural forms and biophilic detail.
A soft palette of muted pinks and warm timber flooring creates a sense of ease from the moment you enter. Custom joinery plays a key role throughout the space, starting with the custom-designed reception counter, while elegant fluted cladding and arched glazing decals create a soft, cohesive arrival experience.
A standout feature is the waiting lounge, anchored by a sculptural banquette seat with a waved façade and scalloped detailing. Indoor palms introduce a biophilic layer that adds warmth and reinforces GROUNDUP’s wellness-driven philosophy.
Across reception, waiting areas and bathrooms, Intermain’s joinery team helped define the space with warm timbers, curved details and textures. From the welcoming arched entry to the sculpted banquette seating, each element contributes to a highly considered boutique wellness fitout.
In contrast to the studio’s airy atmosphere, the bathrooms have been reimagined with a moodier ambiance that encourages relaxation. Rich burgundy walls, half-height black and white stone tiling, Rosso Levanto stone vanity tops, a freestanding travertine-framed mirror and soft backlighting deliver a refined, elevated feel.
