Blackmores

A collaboration between Gensler and Intermain has helped Blackmores set a new paradigm in workplace design at their Warriewood Campus. From their welcoming entrance surrounded by peacefully flowing fountains, forest garden beds flourishing inside the office and a new employee wellness centre, it’s evident this new generation workplace prioritises giving the best to, and getting the best out of, its people.

The more progressive design considerations included open areas where employees can spread out for privacy and social distancing (when necessary) as well as prioritising good air quality, access to outdoor space and biophilic interior design elements like green walls and plants.

“How people come together and do their best work was the focal point of this design,” commented Neil Christopher, Design Director at Gensler Sydney. “Providing a variation of spaces across the 3600sqm campus was important as employees today want more choice around how, where and when they work, especially as people are returning to the office, both in person and hybrid mode, he added. “With this in mind, we curated new quiet spaces that provide collaborative experiences and in-person interactions that feel inclusive, healthy, purposeful and are designed for human connection including a library, wellness centre and private offices, but also places where people could connect such as a new canteen area with seating and entertainment.”

“Gensler, Intermain and Blackmores share a focus on sustainability,” said Marcus Blanco Project Director from Intermain. “When building the bespoke joinery for the project from our NSW joinery factory, it was important to us all that we recycled, upcycled and reused what we could, resulting in less wastage and maximum value for Blackmores”.

Whilst most workplaces are looking at how they attract their employees back to the office with more choice, flexibility and benefits, Blackmores have taken their campus to another level by transporting their healthy living principles into their workplace experience through collaborating with the right partners to reimagine their space; Gensler with their expertise in workplace strategy and design, and Intermain, with their unrivalled experience in fitout and refurbishment delivery.
