To celebrate Reconciliation week 2022, and in the spirit of storytelling, we’re honoured to share the story of the Intermain HQ site-specific mural created by award-winning Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay artist Dennis Golding.

National Reconciliation Week—27 May to 3 June—is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

For Intermain, the 2022 theme, “Be Brave. Make Change.” resonates and rings true to our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan. As a business, we challenge ourselves every day to make small changes that lead to positive steps in reconciliation.

Intermain, in collaboration with BVN Architects, Curatorial+Co and The Art of Wall was thrilled to work with Dennis Golding to create “Following the Pathway”, an artwork that depicts the local histories of the Eora Nation where the Intermain HQ is situated.

Following the pathways

Andrew Johnson, CEO/Managing Director of Intermain, felt it was important to acknowledge and celebrate traditional owners of the land. Following the Pathways is located in the main collaboration area of the workplace and highlights the significance of first nations people every day “the artwork makes you think about the environment, and what the land was before this building was here” – Andrew Johnson.

The National Reconciliation Week 2022 theme, “Be Brave. Make Change.” is a challenge to all Australians— individuals, families, communities, organisations and government—to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.
