Liquid Instruments approached us upon outgrowing their previous workspace. Intermain was tasked with modifying, refurbishing and ultimately combining two existing office spaces into one large, more stylised space for their new headquarters.
Refurbishing existing tenancies allowed for the upcycling of furniture and office space, allowing for Liquid Instrument’s to maximise their budget for areas of importance to their team culture. Spanning approximately 1042sqm, the new space takes on a unique and engaging feel.
A key focus of the project was the design of collaborative areas, so that a diverse range of meeting spaces could be incorporated throughout. These areas now include the Town Hall, Collab Corner, Huddle Area, Phone Rooms and Meeting Booths – each accommodating different working modes, such as face-to-face and online meetings.
Working alongside our Joinery Team, we were able to design custom joinery pieces to best utilise the open floor plan, while also retaining privacy between the Entry and Kitchen Breakout.
Placing workstations alongside windows allows for natural light to shine through, complimenting the earthy colour palette of the tenancy, while the CEO corner office has been enhanced with expansive outdoor views.
“We are super happy with our new office fitout, both the final result and the overall experience during the project. Intermain staff were professional, clear communicators and delivered exactly what was promised on time and on budget. The project team were very accommodating of my micromanaging tendencies and were always responsive in answering all of my questions even after the project had been delivered and handed over. I would definitely use Intermain again. The project went very smoothly and the end result is a spectacular office that our team will enjoy for years.” – Professor Daniel Shaddock, Liquid Instruments CEO (The Australian National University Canberra, ACT, 2016)
