Stage 1 involved the fitout of the office space and warehouse amenities. Designed by Nettletontribe, the existing office was refurbished to transform it from a 1970s space to a modern one. The design style reflected the aesthetics of corporate Sydney CBD, created within an unassuming fresh space in Smithfield.
The works included an open plan office space, open collaboration spaces with a magnetic whiteboard custom vinyl wall, a modernised lunchroom featuring custom joinery and graphic artwork which brought colour and brightness to the space, and seamless use of floor to wall tiling in the amenities.

Stage 2 works included the building of production spaces with a mezzanine. Engineered and cross-braced, the self-supporting steel frame mezzanine stands independently from the existing warehouse structure. The new structure provides a new, bright, modern space to the warehouse.
Intermain was challenged with aligning the design and construction with the existing warehouse. Unforeseen outdated elements of the space required a facelift, and existing amenities needed to be relocated while matching the existing skeleton of the structure. In addition, Intermain aimed to reuse and maintain many of the services and assets.
“Intermain recently completed a warehouse refurbishment project in Smithfield, Sydney, and I was extremely impressed with their seamless collaboration and onsite problemsolving skills. They demonstrated excellent knowledge throughout all phases of the project, and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a similar project.”
