Intermain completes 28,000sqm warehouse transformation in Sydney’s Eastern Creek.

Intermain is proud to announce the completion of a 28,000sqm refurbishment project for Frasers Property Industrial, bringing their warehouse and office facilities up to the standards of modern industrial businesses. Originally completed in 2004, the building features a sprawling 24,189sqm warehouse with 18 recessed loading docks and 4,858sqm of office space spread across four floors.

This comprehensive project included stripping out and refurbishing the existing warehouse and office spaces, implementing upgrades to the offices, amenities, and terraces, and adding a new end-of-trip facility. Key tasks included a full glazed façade replacement, ACP cladding replacement, and repainting all external building elevations. Additionally, extensive services, BCA, and compliance upgrades were carried out throughout the building.

A standout moment in this project was the innovative approach taken for replacing the smoke exhaust fans on the warehouse roof. After considering three different methodologies, Intermain opted for a helicopter lift. This daring decision not only ensured the safe removal and replacement of the fans but also completed the task in just one day, significantly saving time and costs. This building is targeting a 4-star Green Star rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, featuring sustainable solutions like a rooftop solar system, energy and water metering and monitoring, and rainwater recapture and reuse systems.

In our relentless pursuit of excellence, we faced an extraordinary challenge while upgrading the warehouse roof at 2 Wonderland Drive. Conventional methods proved insufficient for the task at hand: replacing smoke exhaust fans that were beyond reach. That’s when we decided to think outside the box — or rather, above it.

With the stakes high, we orchestrated a spectacular helicopter lift to seamlessly remove and reinstall these essential components. This daring manoeuvre showcased our innovative spirit and commitment to delivering top-tier solutions.

Every detail was meticulously planned, with safety and precision guiding our every move. The result? A flawless operation that not only met but exceeded expectations, ensuring the well-being of everyone involved.

Watch as we transform the exterior of this warehouse, replacing all Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP) and glazing to meet Greenstar and Section J standards. Over a 12 week program, we used articulating booms, spider cranes, and scissor lifts to get the job done, carried out in conjunction with interior strip-out and make-good works.

Plus, you can see the construction of a new awning on the level two mezzanine, complete with timber seating and built-in BBQ facilities!
