BlueScope Steel | 201 Coward Street

Mascot, NSW

Intermain were engaged by Bluescope Steel for the Design and Construction of their new office located in Mascot. The project involved transforming 850 sqm over 2 levels within 8 weeks.

A highlight for the client was working directly with one team for the pre-construction, design and construction for their new space, through this method we were able to tune into Bluescope’s needs and identify that the primary motivations included creating a modern, collaborative space for staff along with a brand experience for guests.

Our design team delivered on the brief by incorporating the client’s product into the design, this included using ColourBond Steel sample swatches to create a feature wall at the entrance of the office as well as Bluescope Steel panelled wall. A large collaborative space was also designed and built by Intermain which consisted of audio visual, breakout and a hot desk allowing for staff to go from idea stages through to presentations or the perfect platform for a town hall meeting.

Proven Value

Our construction team proved their value when they uncovered the original ceiling structure that had been covered previously by panels. They identified the opportunity to showcase this by having it painted black and left exposed, reducing costs for our client and creating a feeling of openness and volume which would not have been achieved otherwise.

The smart space was beautifully delivered to BlueScope with no WH&S issues, on time and within budget, this can be attributed to the constant and open lines of communication from the Project Manager and his team to our client, along with weekly PCG’s, building a strong relationship for trust.
