Originally built in 1937 and known as the Royal Exchange Assurance Building, Intermain were honoured to collaborate with Nettletontribe and RH Contracting to rejuvinate one of Sydney's first Modernists buildings

Intermain was engaged to collaborate with RH Contracting, architects NettletonTribe and heritage consultants Architectural Projects to rejuvenate the previously owned Thai Airways building.

The brief was to deliver a back to base upgrade to the whole building, refurbish all floors, upgrade all building services, and activate street and laneway frontages for commercial and public benefits.

Heritage Signifigance

The heritage-listed building now offers a range of whole floor workplaces supported by ground-floor retail.

The scope of works involved providing shell and core base building provision for ground floor lobby and retail tenancies and 12 typical commercial floors, in addition to upgrading the facade and constructing a new awning.

Our team worked closely with the City of Sydney and heritage consultants, Architectural Projects, to ensure heritage significance was maintained throughout the construction process.
