Design and Functionality
FIGR’s design intent was achieved through a sophisticated monochromatic palette enhanced by subtle luxury elements. The use of soft, colour-adjustable LED lighting and premium finishes, including marble, brass, and stone, brings a sense of elegance and harmony to the space. One of the primary design challenges was the integration and concealment of existing services and pipework, which was thoughtfully managed to maintain the clean lines and visual appeal of the area.
The design’s functional upgrades included the addition of new ambulant and DDA-compliant facilities, enhancing accessibility for all users. Reflective surfaces throughout add depth and a sense of spaciousness, transforming these utilitarian areas into elevated, welcoming environments. The curated bronze metalwork accents bring a cohesive, stylish finish to the space, adding to its luxurious aesthetic.
Sustainability Achievements
A strong commitment to sustainability was central to the project’s execution, with Intermain achieving a 97% waste recycling rate. This effort successfully diverted 1,069kg of waste from landfill, demonstrating an environmentally conscious approach to construction and underscoring the project’s positive environmental impact.
Project Outcome
The upgraded amenities at 40 River Boulevard offer a refined, welcoming environment that speaks to Salta Properties’ dedication to creating premium spaces for their tenants. This project not only enhances the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the building’s shared spaces but also serves as a model for sustainable construction practices in commercial settings.
