A design grounded in Canberra
Designed by Davenport Campbell through direct engagement with the Allianz team, the fitout provides a range of settings to support flexible and hybrid working — open workstations, focus rooms, meeting spaces, a boardroom, breakout hub and wellness areas. The material palette draws on Canberra’s red brick character and natural landscape, with terracotta stone, timber-look flooring, pale oak joinery and planting used throughout to create a warm, grounded environment. First Nations artworks are integrated across the space, embedding a connection to place and the local community
Programming and procurement
With works scheduled over the Christmas shutdown, lead time considerations for key items were identified early and incorporated into programme planning. Intermain responded by front-loading procurement decisions and drawing on an established supplier and subcontractor network to identify compliant alternatives where standard specifications could not be delivered within the available timeframe. Early finishes sign-off was secured to keep the programme on track, ensuring the space was ready for Day 1 operations as required.
IT, security and coordination
As a large corporate occupier, Allianz required all secure areas, networking and IT infrastructure to integrate fully with their broader Australian office network and International operations. Throughout the project, Intermain maintained close coordination with the client’s IT, AV, power and security teams to manage this successfully. Patching and IT schedules were submitted and approved as part of the project close-out, alongside full maintenance and asset registers. In-wall and fit-off inspections were completed as documented hold points at each stage to satisfy services requirements, with waste reporting logged across the programme and issued to the client on completion.
