No. 1 William, Australian Museum

Hospitality | No. 1 William, Australian Museum

The transformation of the Australian Museum’s collection storeroom into a new café and display area was a collaboration between the museum’s project manager Brad Adlam and Intermain. The design brief called for a new café fitout for the museum with a display area that involved the demolition of the existing 460 square metre collection storeroom back to the base building. With views over Sydney’s St Mary’s Cathedral and Hyde Park, No. 1 William incorporates an open plan café, balcony area, and a display room featuring polished concrete floors, exposed matte black ceilings, vivid white perimeter walls and shadow line skirting details.
